Here it is mid February again.
January just seems to get faster every year, am I right? Anyway we just have to accept that.
I want to talk about February because it seems to be the month that some people give up on those New Years Resolutions they made in earnest only a short time ago.
I am not going to bark at you and say you shouldn’t make them, you aimed too high or anything like that.
I am going to tell you we can still get them this year, it is actually far too early to give up on a goal that you really want!
If it was something you wanted to accomplish this year there is still almost 90% of this year remaining, and realistically if you put a good effort in for 80% of the year you are going to either bust through that goal or at the very least be almost there by the end of the year.
Think of that goal again. And think what stopped you in January. Was it holidays? Social weekends? Warm relaxed afternoons? Chores? Work?
You will need to look at this answer and weigh up if you want to keep doing those things all year, or eke out a few hours a week to make your goals happen.
A goal is a fabulous thing to have, and it gives us something to work towards. And that is the point! We need to work towards them. A goal is just a point on a map. But if that map just has a you are here dot one end, and a here is your destination at the other and nothing between them, you can’t know how to get there.
Is this what has happened to you now or before? You had the goal, but lacked a plan or direction and accountability to get there? So it ended up just falling by the wayside.
One of the biggest things we do at CrossFit Armidale is help with goals and how to set them. But most importantly how to get them!
So how often do you review that goal you set? Once and never again?
We like to look at and review goals every 90 days, that way we can check if all is going well and still on track! If it isn’t, well we put steps in place to bring it back onto the path.
By reviewing goals and directions every 90 days we never get so far off course that it seems impossible. We can always steer back on track. As that is the number one thing people quit on their goals, they get so far off track it seems pointless or impossible to achieve it.
And that is where we jump in and provide a better map.
If you want us to help, we certainly can, just get in touch and we can book you in.
