When we either start an exercise program, or keep consistent with one, it can be easy to overlook the other aspects of what contributes to someone being healthy or well.
Sure we know the benefits exercise has, and for the last 15 years or so I have been helping people with an exercise program that is broad and inclusive. But exercise alone isn’t the magic bullet to cure all of our ills. It will go a long way to helping us with all manner of ailments, but like everything in life, it is multifaceted and needs a much more broad approach in terms of pieces that all add up to guiding us to a more healthy life.
So this is where my MESH model comes in.
It is a simple framework to look at when you are needing to get on top of things in your life.
While these four things won’t on their own solve everything, you will feel better in just about all aspects of your life if you pay attention to them consistently.
And that is something you will hear me tell you again and again, be consistent! If you aren’t, it doesn’t matter what you do, it won’t work. Consistency is the key in all aspects of life and positive changes.
So, do you want to perform better at work?
Perform better on the sporting field?
Be a better parent?
Have better relationships all round?
Be better in bed?
I hope you answered yes to all that apply to you there, (not all of you are parents or play sports, haha)
This model can really streamline how you approach your health and wellbeing, while helping to improve all of the areas in those previous questions.
Over the next few weeks I will go through each of the four points in more detail.
We need all areas of our lives to MESH for us to live well.
Our values need to mesh with the activities we undertake, the work we do, and the people we associate with.
So while this is a great framework to operate under before I get into how we will use MESH at CrossFit Armidale, and in our day to day lives, I want you to have a look and try and see what your core values are.
You can go here to check out what some core values are and how you can figure out your own.
Or if you like you can book in with me and we can have a catch up (free!) to help you through the exercise.
